September 23, 2003—September 24, 2003. National Summit on ICT will be held in Uzbekistan
The National Summit on ICT will be held in Uzbekistan in September On September 23-24 the National Summit on Information-Communication Technologies (ICT) will be organized in Uzbekistan. This forum will be held within the framework of country’s preparation for participation in the World Summit on Information Community. The Summit will be organized by the Uzbek Agency of Communications and Information (UzACI), UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Itesa Osiyo Company. This Summit will allow to asses the ICT situation in Uzbekistan and work out suggestions on their development in the country. It will also help to expand cooperation of the state, private and public sectors. On the first forum day participants will be working in six sections: “E-government”, “E-education”, “ICT use by the society”, “Access to network resources”, “Policy in the sphere of ICT” and “E-commerce”. Next day of the summit Heads of Representatives Offices international organizations will take the floor and speak on assistance of ICT development in Uzbekistan. As expected representatives of USAID, World Bank, Open Society Institute, EBRD, ADB, IREX, OBSE and European House will address the Summit.
