Turkmen newspapers publish documents on government reshuffle

Turkmen president Saparmurat Niyazov made a number of appointments at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday. The documents on personnel reshuffling were published in today’s newspapers. In particular, Guychnazar Tachnazarov was appointed deputy prime minister in charge of the oil and gas sector, while Atamyrat Berdiyev was appointed deputy prime minister in charge of energy issues. Saparmurat Niyazov relieved newly-appointed deputy prime-ministers Tachnazarov and Berdiyev of their previous posts of the chairman of Turkmengas state concern with ministerial rank and the minister of power engineering and industry of Turkmenistan correspondingly.
Yusup Davudov was promoted from the post of the first deputy minister of power engineering and industry, chairman of the Turkmen state energy corporation Kuwwat to the post of minister of power engineering and industry of Turkmenistan.
The head of state appointed Tekebay Altiyev minister of water management of Turkmenistan. Before this appointment he worked as deputy minister. Let us recall that the former minister of water management, Byashimklych Kalandarov, tragically died in a car crash. Tachmurat Shihberdiyev who served in the military for the last 12 years was appointed chairman of the bread products association Turkmengallaonumleri. The former chairman of the association, Kemal Atdayev, was sacked for serious shortcomings in work. A criminal case was filed against him.
