As Reuters reported, Uzbekistan will raise the price of gas export to $55 for 1.000 cube meters. “Uztransgas” stated that new tariffs are being distributed to other importers of Uzbek gas including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. Uzbekistan is the number one producer of natural gas and in 2004 it produced around 60 billion cube meters of natural gas. Uzbekistan annually supplies around one billion cube meters to Kyrgyzstan, 0.75 billion cube meters to Kazakhstan, and 0.5 billion cube meters to Tajikistan.
