December 30, 2005. Head of Gasprom praises dynamics of Turkmenistan’s fuel-energy complex development
Gasprom board chairman Alexei Miller talked about some details of his meeting with Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov after his return from Ashgabat where he was on a two-day working visit. “We have discussed terms of Turkmen gas supplies in 2006, Alexei Miller said in particular. Turkmenistan’s fuel-energy complex is developing very dynamically and there remained extra volumes of uncommitted gas. That is why we agreed to boost the volume of Turkmen gas shipments to 30 billion cubic meters in 2006. Taking into account continuous rise in prices of materials and equipment for the oil and gas sector, we have agreed to increase the price of Turkmen gas to US $ 65 per 1000 cub. meters.” According to Alexei Miller, during the talks the President of Turkmenistan had repeatedly stressed his government’s readiness to steadily develop mutually beneficial cooperation with Gasprom within the framework of the agreement signed by the two states on cooperation in the gas field until 2028
