- October 31, 2004. "Regional Cooperation for Human Development and Human Security in Central Asia" is the title of the new regional report being prepared by UNDP

UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS (RBEC) has initiated preparation of Central Asian Regional Report focused on Regional Cooperation for Human Development and Security (CAHDR).
The principal purpose of the report is to promote a dialogue in Central Asia and among Central Asians to convince policy makers and other stakeholders that regional cooperation and integration are essential for long-term economic growth, poverty reduction and social stability, and thus for human development and security.
The report is also intended to provide a common platform for the international community, including and especially the UNDP and other UN Agencies, to advocate and support regional cooperation and integration in Central Asia.
Teams of national and international experts are working on preparation of the report. Core team of experts is represented by Mr. Johannes Linn, team leader, Jacek Cukrowski, MDG Adviser from UNDP RBEC, and Gulden Turkoz-Cosslett, Senior Programme Manager, UNDP RBEC.
