A delegation of Bukhara Jews has arrived in Tajikistan at the invitation of the Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, according to information from the Dushanbe mayor's office.
The delegation is led by Boris Qandov, head of the Congress of Bukhara Jews living in the United States and Canada and Yakov Leviyev, head of the Congress of Bukhara Jews living in Russia. The delegation will attend festivities dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Tajik capital city Dushanbe. Honored artists of the Tajik culture such as known dancer Malika Kalontarova and singer Shoista Mullojonova as well as businessmen are among members of this delegation.
