Baltic Financial Summit «Banking and Finance in the Baltics», which to be conducted in Riga, is the major financial event in the Baltic region. A conference conducts since 1995 and is the largest financial forum in the Baltic region. The summit will bring together around 350 participants from the Baltic States, Europe, Russia and the CIS (348 participants from 22 countries in 2005). Delegates attending the summit this year will include Ministers of Finance and Economy, Governors of National Banks of the Baltics as well as heads of commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and other financial organizations and major companies. During the 2006 summit the main topics of macroeconomic and banking system development, as well as financial issues of the Baltic region will be discussed in the light of the EU development in dialogue with government representatives, business people, bankers, investors and representatives of international financial organizations. Summit languages: English, Latvian, Russian (simultaneous translation).
