November 10, 2006—November 18, 2006. SCO member nations review forms of interaction

The second forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (CSO) on defense and security issues is taking place at the Academy of China’s National Army in Beijing. This ten-day forum formally titled “Peaceful Development of China and the SCO” has brought together some 30 high-ranking officers from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan. Issues related to exchange of information and strengthening of the confidence-building measures between member nations and observer countries of the Organization are the main focus of the meeting. The forum will last until November 18.
