May 28, 2007—June 15, 2007. Seminar to discuss journalism and democracy

Experienced journalists from selected countries in Central Asia, Eastern Europe and South Caucasus can apply to attend a journalism and democracy seminar in Sweden. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) is organizing the event scheduled for May 28 to June 15, 2007 in Kalmar. Twenty successful applicants will be invited to attend the seminar, which will discuss the status of the media in the participants’ home countries and the role of journalism in the democratic process. Citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Moldova. Applications deadline: February 11.
