Over 31,000 small business and private enterprise entities currently operate in Ferghana region. The share of private sector in the regional GDP totals 44.9%. In 2006, over 8,700 new enterprise entities were registered in the region. During the reporting period, goods and services worth US$70 million were exported from the region. Also, over 30,000 new jobs were created.
