September 27, 2007—September 28, 2007. ICT Summit 2007 - Call for Papers
The Fifth National Summit on Information and Communication Technologies – ICT SUMMIT 2007, which will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. ICT Summit is the first event that traditionally gives the start to the Information and Communication Technologies Week (ICT Week) and represents the year’s one of the most important events in ICT area in Uzbekistan. The ICT SUMMIT 2007 creates a unique platform for representatives of government, non-government organizations, academic and business communities to demonstrate new trends, achievements and benefits of implementation of ICTs in various areas and to jointly deliberate on actions to address issues emerging from the wide-scale application and rapid development of ICTs. The ICT SUMMIT 2007 aims to encourage discussions on general and policy issues as well as on specific topics in the selected ICT application areas. Topics for general discussion include trends and major developments in regulatory policy, progress and challenges in implementation of national ICT development programmes, experience of ICT application in various sectors, issues of infrastructure development and other most critical areas. This year the leading discussion topics are stimulation of innovations, creation of innovation and entrepreneurship inducing environment, specialized science and technology zones, and the role of government. Papers will be reviewed on the basis of two pages (A4 format) extended abstracts of sufficient detail to permit reasonable evaluation. The final version of accepted papers should be six pages long. Important dates: Abstract submission due: August 11, 2007; Notification of Acceptance: August 14, 2007; Final Camera Ready Papers due: September 11, 2007.
