June 4, 2007. Uzbek trainers learn CEDAW within UNDP's project
A five-day training-of-trainers workshop "Gender awareness and Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women" started its work on 2 June in Charvak, Tashkent region. UNDP's project "The Legislative and Institutional Capacity Development for Women's Empowerment in Uzbekistan" is organized the training. The project aimed to support and to build the capacity of the government, civil society and mass media in reducing the gender gaps via raising awareness of and implementing the recommendations of the CEDAW Committee to Uzbekistan.
