Turkmen interdepartmental commission on Caspian issues meets in Ashgabat

The first meeting of the Interdepartmental commission of Turkmenistan on issues of the Caspian Sea took place. The meeting participants approved the Commission’s Work Plan for 2007 and the first half of 2008, discussed a number of issues regarding the development of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, and preparations to negotiations between Turkmenistan and other Caspian states on delimitation of the seabed and entrails of the unique water reservoir. Preparation of the National Action Plan in the Caspian Sea was also discussed.
