September 3, 2007. Croatian President to pay official visit before end of 2007
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia in Turkmenistan, Gordan Bakota, presented his credentials to the Chairwoman of Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Akja Nurberdieva. On behalf of the leader of state, the parliament speaker congratulated the first Croatian Ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission and wished him every success in strengthening friendly relations and further development of the fruitful cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting the guest was briefed on the main aspects of the domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan aimed at establishing and developing mutually beneficial cooperation with all nations of the world. The sides noted big potential of interstate and inter-parliamentary cooperation the realization of which would serve the wellbeing of the two nations. According to Gordan Bakota, the forthcoming official visit of Croatian President Styepan Mesich to Turkmenistan this year is the best evidence of the mutual intention to expand and deepen the interstate interaction.
