September 7, 2007. Dushanbe OSCE meeting explores gender and security issues
Incorporating gender perspectives into security in the Tajik context was the focus of an OSCE-organized two-day workshop that was held in Dushanbe on September 4-5. The event had helped to raise awareness of the role of women and find ways to implement United Nations Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security on the national level. Representatives from the Tajik Government and civil society attended the workshop, which was led by experts from the OSCE Organization for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, which co-organized the event.
