With the assistance of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan the regional meeting on the Environment and Security (ENSVEC) Program was held in Ashgabat. The leading specialists from state nature protection institutions, project coordinators from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Italy, Iran and Afghanistan, environmental scientists, mapping experts and representatives of local authorities attended the meeting. Representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations – OCSE, NATO, UNEP and UNDP – took part in the meeting. Issues of ENSVEC program’s further implementation in East-Caspian region, development of regional process on environment protection and cooperation in this area were discussed by the participants.
