- December 6, 2007. UNDP, OSCE organize conference dedicated to International Human Rights Day

A conference dedicated to International Human Rights Day, which is marked on December 10, will be held in Dushanbe on December 7. The event, organized by the UNDP CO Tajikistan, the OSCE Center in Dushanbe and Office the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, is expected to bring together more than 80 persons, including representatives from parliament, president’s office, ministries and organizations, as well as NGOs and international organizations active in Tajikistan. The conference aims to discuss issues related to creation of the institution of ombudsman, a progress of implementation of the legal reform program, and fulfillment by Tajikistan of its obligations on human rights matters.
