January 23, 2008. New Uzbek-Russian textile JV was launched in Ferghana region

New Uzbek-Russian joint enterprise, Rus-Uzbekteks, on production of thread, has been launched in Rishtan district of Ferghana region. The project cost of the joint venture accounts for US$6.5 million. This amount has been channeled to deliver and install the latest equipment. Rus-Uzbekteks plans to export major part of its products. Currently, the enterprise is employing some 400 people.
