January 25, 2008. Kazakh Senate Speaker, China’s President met in Beijing
Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Chinese President Hu Jintao within the framework of the official visit to the People’s Republic of China today. K. Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan is interested in the development of parliamentary relations between the two states. He underlined that the Chinese experience in the legislative provision of reforms was very important for Kazakhstan. Senate Speaker noted the great role of China’s President in creation of the Institute of Confucius under the Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Hu Jintao emphasized that for 16 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China bilateral contacts developed deeply and successfully.
