- February 21, 2008. Uzbek envoy in UN invites states to attend Aral Conference

Speaking at the session of UN General Assembly on “Addressing Climate Change: The United Nations and the World at Work”, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Alisher Vahidov invited the UN member states to participate in the Aral Conference, which is expected to take place in March 2008. Uzbek envoy said Uzbekistan plans to organize an international conference dedicated to the Aral Sea problem and its effect to people, flora and fauna on 11-12 March in Tashkent. He said this is contribution of Uzbekistan in efforts to fight climate change and environment protection.
