Editorial Staff of “Economic review” magazine conducted a round table on March 3, 2004, dedicated to issues on insurance market development and insurance of small business risks by entrepreneurs. The objective of round table is to developed ideas and recommendations that will allow larger number of entrepreneurs to insure risks. The following issues suggested to round table participants for discussion:
1. Specificity of entrepreneurs’ risks in Uzbekistan and reasons averting small business actors from insuring risks;
· Entrepreneurs’ main risks and methods of their reduction;
· Entrepreneurs’ attitude to economic risks;
· Opportunities to increase business insurance culture;
· What averts entrepreneurs from insurance?
2. Insurance of financial risks: protection of entrepreneurs or creditors?
· Role of insurers in banks’ relations with small business subjects;
· Impact of credit non-return insurance on state of borrower’s business;
· Insurance as the factor increasing business financial sustainability.
3. Normative-legal base on insurance and directions for its improvement.
· The guarantees efficiency level and benefits ensured by legislation for insurers;
· Unjustified legislative and administrative barriers in the sphere of small business insurance and ways of their removal;
· Perspective directions to improve insurance normative – legal base.
4. Changes at insurance market in connection with development of leasing operations.
Result of discussion will be published in magazine issue #3 (March, 2004).
