June 2, 2008. More than 80 China's companies to participate in exhibition in Dushanbe in July
More than 80 companies from China are expected to participate in the Chinese trade and investment exhibition that will be held in Dushanbe in late July, according to Tajikistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). Issues related to preparations for this exhibition were major topic of a May 30 meeting of the CCI head Sharif Said with Chinese official Wan Chungan (phonetically spelled. In the course of the talks, the two discuss bilateral trade between Tajikistan and China. During the meeting, it was noted that trade between the two countries last year amounted to $524 million and it is expected to increase this year. Said and Wan also agreed that a new regime of work of the crossing checkpoint Kulma on the Tajik-Chinese in GBAO's Murgab district would promote further increase in trade between Tajikistan and China. The CCI head noted that a large Tajik delegation will participate at the Fourth International Fair in Kashgar, China that will be held on June 28.
