June 4, 2008. Kyrgyzstan's GDP for January-April 2008 has increased by 6.3%
The CIS Statistical Committee released data on GDP for January-April 2008. The GDP rate in the CIS countries grew by 8% in average compared with 2007. The highest GDP rate is reported in Azerbaijan (15%) and Belarus (10.4%). In Russia and Armenia GDP growth reached 9.3%, in Uzbekistan - 8.1%, in Kyrgyzstan - 6.3%, in Kazakhstan - 6%, in Ukraine - 6.2%, in Tajikistan - 4.1%. From January to April 2008, inflation made 23.3% in Kyrgyzstan compared to the same period last year. The National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic says inflation makes 7.2%. According to calculations of the CIS Statistical Committee, the highest inflation rate is reported in Tajikistan (26.6%), the lowest inflation rate is reported in Armenia (8.6%). In Kazakhstan inflation rate reached 18.8%, in Azerbaijan - 17.8%, in Moldova - 15%, in Russia -13.2%, in Belarus - 15%, in Georgia - 11.5%. The CIS Statistical Committee does not have inflation rates for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in its report. In average the inflation rate within the Commonwealth of Independent States made 16%.
