Discussion of the issues on arbitration and mediation in Termez

Alternative ways of dispute resolution between legal entities through arbitration courts and mediation were discussed at the UNDP supported seminar on 18 June in Termez (Surkhandara region). The seminar was part of the series of events planned to be carried out in each region of the country. Similar seminars had been held in Namangan and Tashkent cities for lawyers of financial institutions and businesses and representatives of the judicial system. Over 30 representatives of local business and judicial agencies had discussed issues of training of arbitrators and mediators, improvement of their professional skills. They had also learned about modern trends in arbitration and mediation, activities of the Arbitration Development Center under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, including procedures of the arbitration courts, selection of arbitrators and other related issues.
