June 24, 2008. Kazakh-American forum on state-private sector partnership started in Astana
A Kazakh-American forum on the initiative of state-private sector economic partnership has started its work today in Astana. The forum was opened by Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Yedil Mamytbekov. According to Y. Mamytbekov, the USA is KazakhstanÒs one of the largest trade and economic partners. The volume of commodity turnover between the two countries made USD 2 bln in 2007. The USA is the first investor-country of Kazakhstan. These are very good indices and we consider that potential of our trade and economic relations has not been exhausted yet, Vice Minister said. Representative of the US Department for Commerce pointed out that Óthe forum will become something like a catalyst for strengthening commercial and trade ties. Integration of the private sector to world economy depends on state bodies' work, he noted.
