April 29, 2005. New Polish Ambassador accredited to Turkmenistan

Yesterday, Ambassador Vitold Smidovsky of Poland presented his credentials to chairman of the Turkmen Mejlis Ovezgeldy Atayev. After the ceremony the Polish diplomat emphasized that his country was watching with keen interest and sympathy the transition phase of Turkmenistan. He expressed his sincere admiration at the fast pace of development of the young state that attaches priority to social programmes. In this context, the Ambassador shared impressions gathered by the Polish delegation after their visit to the Lebap region of Turkmenistan to get acquainted with the life of this region’s population. The sides discussed a number of issues related to the further strengthening and development of bilateral cooperation in economic and humanitarian fields.
