Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Kassymzhomart Tokayev has met with General Director of International Organization for Migration Brunson McKinley to share views on global aspects of migration and directions of cooperation between Kazakhstan and IOM. K. Tokayev told about general provisions of President N. Nazarbayev’s Message to the nation concerning further modernization and democratization of Kazakhstan. In his turn B. McKinley underlined that economic successes and intra-political stability in Kazakhstan make it attractive for migrants and refugees from bad countries of the region, with certain difficulties following. In the course of talks the parties agreed to continue cooperation in ensuring migration and frontier control; organization of training for government officials regarding illegal migration control, migrants’ rights, people trafficking, and establishment of rehabilitation centers for repatriates.
