March 7, 2007. The first UBCCE managing council was held in Almaty
The first Union of Black Sea & Caspian Confederation of Enterprises (UBCCE) managing council with 12 countries representatives’ participation was held in Almaty. According to Murat Zongur, UBCCE Secretary General, the main strategic task of new alliance is to become a business voice in Black and Caspian Seas regions. The first managing council in fact assigned the existence of UBCCE which formally was created in summer 2006. The organization uniting the Black-Caspian Sea region business structures representatives will take the responsibility on integration and creation of United Economic Area which has big potential. The members of new economic alliance are representatives from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Turkey.

February 11, 2005—April 15, 2005. Open Society Institute - Soros Supplementary Grants Programme
This programme was created to assist the citizens of Central and Eastern Europe - CEE, the former Soviet Union and Mongolia, who are pursuing advanced study within this region but outside of their home countries. It is part of the Open Society Institute's overall efforts to strengthen the academic network within and among these countries. The objective is to support cross-cultural, intra-regional student mobility.

Grants will be offered to: I. standard eligibility students of the social sciences, humanities and fine and performing arts, who have already arranged for part of the costs of their to be covered; II. special need students: Roma; refugees; people seeking political asylum; displaced (forced migrants).
