March 20, 2008. Program Way to Europe to promote intensification of political cooperation of Kazakhstan with EU - political scientists
The Program Way to Europe will promote intensification of political cooperation of Kazakhstan with the European Union, political scientists from Holland consider. The conference with participation of more than 70 representatives of political, information-analytical and business circles of the Netherlands was held in Hague with the assistance of Kazakhstan embassy. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Maynur Murzamadiyeva acquainted the participants of the event with the main content of the recent Message of the leader of the state to the people of Kazakhstan. Special attention has been drawn to the initiative of development of the special program Way to Europe. The Dutch political scientists noted that the proposals of the President of Kazakhstan on strengthening integration with the European Union attract considerable interest. In their view, the program is unique in the region, its acceptance and realization will assist in intensification of political cooperation of Kazakhstan with the European Union, attraction to the country of the European management and technologies, cultural rapprochement and dialogue between people.

December 14, 2007. Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands strengthen economic cooperation
Ministry of economic development and trade of Kyrgyzstan worked out a draft agreement on economic cooperation between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and the Netherlands. The document is aimed to render positive influence on strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the Netherlands in economic sphere, taking into account of positive growth trend of commodity turnover between the two states for the latest years. The agreement envisages setting up an inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation between the two states. The draft agreement is submitted for consideration of the Dutch side.

October 5, 2007. The Kingdom of Netherlands supports setting up EU office in Ashgabat
The chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Akja Nurberdiyeva, accepted credentials of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Turkmenistan, Jaan Paul Dirkse. Jaan Paul Dirkse confirmed his country’s readiness to establish more close interstate relations and boost trade-economic relations with Turkmenistan. He said the government of Netherlands regards the policy of neutral Turkmenistan as a factor of stability and sustainable development in Central Asian region. Jaan Paul Dirkse expressed confidence that the opening of the EU office in Ashgabat, proposed by the Kingdom of Netherlands, will provide a powerful impetus for development of cooperation with Turkmenistan.

May 16, 2007. The Netherlands Ambassador presented credentials to President Rahmon
The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Tajikistan Klaas van der Temple presented credentials to President Emomali Rahmon. After a meeting with President Rahmon, Klaas van der Temple told journalists that during the meeting they discussed prospects of expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. He noted that the Netherlands is the main trade partner of Tajikistan among the European Union states.

December 18, 2006. Kazakhstan opens Embassies in Armenia, Qatar
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, has signed orders on opening embassies of Kazakhstan in Armenia and Qatar and reorganizing the diplomatic missions to Singapore and Netherlands. In particular, as per the presidential orders, the diplomatic missions to Singapore and Netherlands will be transformed into embassies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Embassy of Kazakhstan to Armenia will be opened in Yerevan. The Embassy of Kazakhstan to Qatar will be opened in Doha. The new embassies will be opened to strengthen the diplomatic relationship. All four orders come into effect as from 1 January, 2007.

December 5, 2006. Presentation, devoted to the 14th anniversary of the Constitution of Uzbekistan took place in Netherlands
The University of Maastricht (the Netherlands) hosted a presentation of political and economic reforms, being carried out in Uzbekistan, which was devoted to 14th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The guests were informed on the progress of the constitutional, social and economic and democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, particularly they were acquainted with the draft laws "On the consolidation of the role of political parties in the updating and further democratization of government management and modernization of the country" and "On amendments to be made in certain articles of the Constitution of the Republic Uzbekistan". It was pointed out that these steps are the testimony of firm intention of the country's leadership in building secular, legal and democratic state.

September 14, 2006. Tajikistan, the Netherlands boost business contacts
Tajikistan and the Netherlands have agreed to expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation. This issue was discussed by CCI head Sharif Saidov and a Dutch delegation led by Mr. Van der Molen (phonetically spelled), honorary consul of the Netherlands to Tajikistan in Dushanbe. The sides also agreed to hold a business forum and an exhibition of Dutch high technology and goods in Dushanbe in late 2006 or early 2007. They also discuss the expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Netherlands in the other spheres, such as energy, transportation, communications, mining, tourism, construction, the agrarian sector and others.
