Our Initiatives
Activities of Project will be mainly directed to building capacities of expert community in policy advice, building partnerships and their institutional strengthening for ensuring better policy advice and participatory approach to development and implementation of regional development and cooperation strategies.
CAG task team supported from the implementing agencies will concentrate on the following priority directions identified as the key activities for reaching the goals and objectives of the project:
- Organization of the regional research study and experts meeting focused on the issues of regional development and economic cooperation;
- Organization of needs assessment and trainings on analytical writing and moderation of e-discussions on the issues of regional cooperation and development for journalists and experts;
- Updating and upgrading existing on-line resources, databases and informational products and developing new ones, highlighting development and integration issues in Central Asia by request of development stakeholders, strengthening partnerships with content providers and building new ones.
During the project implementation CAG will produce the following deliverables:
- policy papers on scenarios of economic integration in Central Asia;
- recommendations from the Experts Meeting on regional development and integration;
- articles on interim and final results of the policy studies in regional media;
- printed copies of Thinks tanks directory in Russian and English;
- articles on results of e-discussions on top issues of development and cooperation in CA;
- courseware and printed materials of trainings on on-line moderation and journalists' skills development;
Expected outcomes:
- Mechanism for supporting decision making on regional development and cooperation that would allow providing expert evaluations of the regional initiatives from the prism of national priorities, and policy advice on development of national policies adjusted to regional and national development objectives;
- Promoted cooperation and development in Central Asia through providing on-line access to international, national and local knowledge and information on integration efforts, as well as effective mechanism for knowledge sharing and experience exchange between government officials, private sector, international organizations;
- Increased role of national think tanks and information agencies in CA regional development through building capacities of experts in conducting joint researches, establishing dialogue, raising challenging issues and delivering policy advice on top issues of development and cooperation in Central Asia.
