Project Profile
Project Profile
The research project aims to present a set of concrete recommendations on how technical cooperation assistance can contribute more effectively to sustainable development and diversification of the economies of Central Asia and international integration of the region as a whole.
The study is expected to identify those areas, where international technical assistance promotes regional cooperation and through it international integration the most effectively. It will explore new opportunities for cooperation among members of the international development community and greater synergies through more emphasis on cross-sector projects and support to policy-level coordination on inter-related issues of regional cooperation. It will make recommendations on how to maximize the effectiveness of technical cooperation assistance in the above areas.
For these purposes, UNECE - in close cooperation with UNDP, the OECD Development Centre and CASE Poland - will compose a regional research team, composed of top analysts from economic research institutes already associated with the Partnership for Economics Education and Research Support (UNECE, UNDP and OSCE are in the final stage of formally establishing PEERS.)
