Civil Society and Poverty Reduction

The world experience proves that the Civil Society has an essential and various impacts on poverty reduction that is acknowledged as a priority of the Millennium Development Goals- the epoch-making document accepted by the international community in 2000 and intended for the period till 2015. The governments alone are hardly able to meet the tasks of poverty reduction without support from society. In that case the Civil Society institutions play a significant role in resolving the poor people's concerns. Day by day the civil society institutions in the Central Asia strengthen their capacities in supporting struggle against poverty.
