Recently I've communed with one of representatives of Indian construction firm, which is engaged in airfield damage repair not far from our capital (Dushanbe). I am working there for a long time. So it was rather interesting for me to know that behind Indian company's back our leadership together with official Dushanbe tries to negotiate with Washington for conversion of our aerodrome near Reger with the aim of deployment of US military base on its territory. And they plan to do it just for 50 million US dollars. Moreover, my old friend who serves in our Tajik air forces has affirmed this opinion. But of course he's told me about it in private conversation, and he wishes to be anonymous for good reason. |
